请问 "the other"和“another” 有什么区别

we had a pinic last term and it was a lot of fun, so let's have_ one this month.
为什么用another而不用the other

the other 是两者之间 去除一个 剩下的那个

如：He has two sisters ,one is in China, the other is in US.

another 一般是3者以上的

因为你们没有明确规定说这个月就只有两次野餐 所以再举行一次后 可能还再举行另外一次 两次或三次等等

因此用the other 是不正确的

the other 两者中的另一个，有范围
another泛指另一个，没有范围

前者是二者比较，后者是再一个。这是我个人观点。
